Prayers: April 26, 2020

Apr 25, 2020   •

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for the explosion of color I can see from my window.
  • Thank you, Lord, for giving me time to look at our world from a different perspective.
  • Thank you, Lord, for healing COVID19 patients, especially loved ones we know.
  • Thank you, Lord, for making me picture-perfect in your eyes.
  • Thank you, Lord, that even in my disobedience You are always gracious, merciful and forgiving. Nehemiah 9:17

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • Pray for healing and strength for those in fragile health, especially those quarantining from exposure to COVID-19 or those with other health concerns made more difficult to address due to the coronavirus.
  • Pray for those in nursing or homebound care who may be experiencing more isolation.
  • Pray for containment and effective treatment for coronavirus. Pray for each person who is sick and protect each person who is not.  Pray for wisdom for our leaders as they address keeping the nation safe and economic uncertainty.  Pray for those working in different aspects of the pandemic – taking care of those infected, searching for treatment and cure, determining the best way for the nation to respond.  Pray for those in essential jobs who have high risks for being exposed to the virus, especially those known to our church family.
  • Pray for those impatient to have stay-at-home restrictions lifted. Pray that economics does not come before safety.
  • Pray for missionaries, Alan and Ahna, under strict lockdown due to COVID19 where they serve in a poor community recovering from earthquake and with limited access to medical supplies.
  • Pray that we may help others to believe that trusting Jesus is more important than focusing on the worries of the world.
  • Pray for new graduates and those who have been laid off who are concerned about jobs.

Pray for CCC:

  • Pray that we may faithfully worship our God because he has faithfully carried out His plan for us to be with Him eternally. Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1 NIV
  • Pray for perseverance and patience when it is hard to plan without knowing timing and details.
  • Pray for our children, that although book learning may be compromised, they may be learning valuable life lessons about God’s priorities.
  • Pray for discernment to see what God desires for us to do.
  • Pray that we may not be satisfied with status quo, but are willing to try something new or different to win souls.

To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that the company we keep may affect our habits.  Don’t make friends with people who have hot, violent tempers. You might learn their habits and not be able to change. Proverbs 22:24-25 GNT
