Prayers: May 3, 2020

May 02, 2020   •

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for helping me find joy in everyday things.
  • Thank you, Lord, for the role models who teach me to be more like you.
  • Thank you, Lord, for the comfort we experience from other people’s prayers.
  • Thank you, Lord, that you are committed to taking every bad thing that happens to us and using it to bless us. Romans 8:28
  • Thank you, Lord, for your nearness.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • Those in fragile health due to medical issues
  • Those in nursing or homebound care
  • Those who have lost loved ones
  • Those dealing with the coronavirus pandemic – patients, medical staff, researchers, caregivers, essential workers, leaders who must decide how to bring our nation back to “normal”, those who are afraid of contracting the virus
  • Those suffering severe financial hardships
  • Those who are fearful about what tomorrow may bring
  • Those concerned about their jobs
  • Those having a hard time adjusting to the lengthy stay-at-home orders
  • Pray that we may help others to believe in the hope of the resurrection. Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope, and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessings that God keeps for his people. He keeps them for you in heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away.  1 Peter 1:3-5

Pray for CCC:

  • Pray that we may faithfully worship our God because nothing can compare to his power and faithfulness. The heavens praise your wonders, Lord, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. Who is like you, Lord God Almighty?    You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you. Psalm 89:5-8 NIV
  • To be on the lookout for ways to build up our community
  • To be diligent and wise in the details of opening our church again
  • To keep the lives and work of our ministry partners in prayer
  • To lift up our nation to the Lord, that it will come to trust His faithfulness
  • To reach out to those struggling in this uncertain time

To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded during this pandemic that earthly treasured are fleeting.  Do not overwork yourself just to become wealthy; have enough sense to know when to quit. As soon as you become fixed on riches, they vanish.  For suddenly they sprout wings and become like a soaring eagle flying high in the sky. Proverbs 23:4-5 VOICE
