  1. Regular Worship Services and In-Person Church Activities Are Still Suspended Indefinitely. Although the District of Columbia is in Phase 2 of Reopening which allows for in-person worship with restrictions, CCC will be delaying its return to in-person worship to make sure there is not an increase in virus spread due to the lifting of restrictions and recent mass gatherings. Many respondents to a recent survey about returning to worship at CCC wanted to wait and see how the virus spread is affected by these activities before venturing out. The plans for phased reopening of CCC will be publicized, probably in mid-July, on our website, email or WeChat groups.  We will also send out a mail communication once plans are in place.  Online activities will continue for now.  The Official Board has established a Re-Opening Church Action Group which will publish the guidelines.  Check the church website frequently for up-dates, cccdc.com.

  1. Online Prayer Meetings
  • Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting. We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer on the first Monday of the month from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm.  Next one is July 6, 2020. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God.  There should be no explanation or self-introduction. You may come any time during the hour by dialing: 1-224-520-9892; PIN: 763875213# (Long distance charges may apply).  You may also pray for other items on your mind at the time.

  1. The Lord’s Supper is usually celebrated the first Sunday of the month at CCC, but we will forego observing this Sacrament until we are back together in the church building. Believers, however, may remember Christ’s death on the cross at any time in thanksgiving for his sacrifice for our redemption.

  1. The church office and Chinatown Service Center may be reached by phone during weekday office hours, 9 am – 4 pm. Jenny will answer for the church at 202-637-9852 and Michelle will answer the Chinatown Service Center line at 202-898-0061.    Our building worker has disinfected our building and will continue to maintain and check our building during the pandemic.

  1. Offerings and Donations are welcome as church expenses continue. Send checks in the mail, add CCC to your bill pay service from your bank, or send through Pay Pal.  Make payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  We continue to support our missionaries from these agencies – Gospel Carrier International, Chinese Gospel Broadcasting Center, International Foundation, China Outreach Ministries, COM, Navigators in Thailand, Send International in Middle East, Youth Ministry in China, South Shore Mission of Edge City Church, so please remember them in prayer and pledges, if you are able.

 

  1. Devotional Booklets in English and Chinese are available. If you or someone you know would like a booklet which you would normally pick up from the church, please send your name and address to info@cccdc.com and we will mail out a current version to you.

 

  1. Precautionary Measures Due to Coronavirus
  • Although the area stay-at-home restriction has been eased, you are advised to be cautious when going out – wear a face mask and stay away from large gatherings. Stay home if you are sick.
  • Details of activity information are announced through the website, phone tree, social media, WTOP and WJLA.  If you want to be on the email list, please make sure we have your current email by contacting linda@cccdc.com
  • It is suggested that those returning from overseas or long distance travel or been in a large group should stay at home for two weeks to minimize spreading contagions.
  • Follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for protecting yourself – wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if you feel ill.  Wear a face covering over nose and mouth if you have to go out.
  • Consult a doctor if you have a high fever, cough or breathing problems.
  • Be aware of anti-Asian/Chinese sentiments from those who have anger or fear related to the virus’ origins.  Call 911 if you feel threatened.
  • Trust God in this and all situations acting as Jesus would to check on people who may need assistance, not giving into fear, verifying information before passing it on, praying often for His protection and trusting Him for the outcome.  Our response in any situation is a testimony of our faith.

  1. 聖餐：美京中華基督教會通常在每個月的第一個主日領受聖餐，但我們要等到回到教堂再領受餅杯。然而弟兄姊妹可以在任何時候以感恩的心紀念基督為救贖我們在十字架上捨己獻身。

  1. 新型冠狀病毒預警預防措施：
  • 目前本地區的居家令已經放鬆，但建議您出外時戴口罩，遠離集會，如果生病了，请留在家中。

  • 建議從海外或長途旅行回來的人和參加了大型集會的人應在家裡自我隔離兩個星期，以最大程度地減少病毒蔓延。
