Sam’s primary focus is upon the English-speaking ministries of the Chinese Community Church. He has a passion for theology, the arts, and the relevance of the gospel to contemporary culture. His undergraduate degree was in East Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC). He received his Masters of Christian Studies in Christianity and the Arts at Regent College (Vancouver, BC). Afterwards, he spent a short time in England at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to complete his diploma in Music and Sound Technology. Sam returned to seminary once more and completed his Masters of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, DC). Before coming to Chinese Community Church, he served as a College Director (Burnaby, BC), a Worship/College Pastor (McLean, VA), and an English Ministry Pastor of a Korean American congregation (Pomona, CA). He currently enjoys his time in Washington, DC with his wife, Rhea, who is an attorney at a non-profit organization, The Children’s Law Center.
