The Lord’s Desire: “To Seek & Save the Lost”: July 23, 2017

Scripture: John 3:16-18; 5:24; 8:24; 12:26; Luke 5:20; 5:24

I. Assurance of Our Salvation. (John 3:16; 12:26)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

II. No Condemnation or Judgment Day for Us, but Eternal Life. (John 3:17-18; 5:24)

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

III. Forgiveness of Our Sins.  (Luke 5:20, 24)

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”

CONCLUSION:  Why Would You Die in Your Sins?  (John 8:24)

24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”
