Prayers

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for the gift of mothers.
  • Thank you, Lord, for your commitment and love for us, your people, for the promises you have kept for a thousand generations. 1 Chronicles 16:15
  • Thank you, Lord, that You have made me a light in the world. Help me to find ways to light more paths for those in darkness. (Matthew 5:14).
  • Thank you, Lord, for brightening the world with the colors of your creation.
  • Thank you, Lord, when we don’t know what to pray, we can call on the name of Jesus and just be still.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • For those who are recovering from illness or adjusting to isolation
  • That we may all act responsibly in stopping the spread of COVID 19 by practicing recommendations of the health department. Thank God for the myriads of people involved in vaccinating.
  • For those who commit acts of violence against others; pray God will intervene in the lives of the attackers and the victims
  • For God’s protection for those who seek the Lord in countries where it is not legal to do so
  • For those fighting spiritual battles
  • For those suffering from weather storms
  • For college students finishing up last assignments before finals

Pray for CCC:

  • To be diligent in her planning for reopening church for worship and wise in asking God’s blessing on those plans
  • To be leaders in changing our community to be a Kingdom people
  • To never grow weary of doing good
  • To be strong and faithful in the midst of trials and change
  • That the church will be a strong presence in helping to teach the ways of the Lord to our children from infants to adulthood
  • That we may focus not so much on our restrictions during the pandemic, but on what we may still do in the name of the Lord

To Think About: We often have questions that can rock our faith such as ‘why do bad things happen’. We live in a broken world so we are going to experience hard things until we are in the presence of God in heaven.  However, if we build a strong foundation, hearing and doing what Jesus says, we will be able to withstand any “storm” or difficult circumstance.   “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”  Matthew 7:24-27 NLT
