Prayers

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for giving me strength to manage the tasks of the day.
  • Thank you, Lord, for making me a new person. Help me to keep allowing you to work in me.
  • Thank you, Lord, for cool days in the middle of summer.
  • Thank you, Lord, I don’t have to go far to take a break and see you at work.
  • Thank you, Lord, that You are in charge of my story, from planning to working it out.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • For those who need God to make himself known to them in a tangible way
  • To learn how to take inventory of our lives and seek what is needed
  • To discern our ministry assignment and commit to doing it well
  • For healing for those suffering severe illness
  • For those experiencing sadness due to loss of loved ones
  • For our missionaries who have the same trials of life we do but complicated by being in foreign and sometimes hostile environments
  • To maintain trust and hope in God that better days are ahead
  • For the people in authority to make decisions about coronavirus and safety, that we pray for their wisdom and respect their guidance
  • For those who are lonely and isolated

Pray for CCC:

  • There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. 1 Samuel 2:2
  • Turn us away from trying to determine our own course of life without God. Being wise in our own eyes is pride. To combat this tendency, the Lord instructs us to fear Him and turn away from evil. This “fear” is not a horrified dread of the Father, but an attitude of respect that motivates us to obey Him for both our good and His glory.
  • For wisdom as we plan to start in-person gatherings, not forsaking worshiping together, but doing so safely.
  • That we take every opportunity to communicate how we feel to God. He wants to hear from us.
  • To build one another up with love and respect – praying for others is a good way.
  • Keep us from worry – it’s a result from planning without God.
  • To take every lesson learned from the Bible and use it to do our job of sharing the good news of salvation

To Think About: What’s needed most if we are to be disciples of Christ? Growing in the Word.  We must erase the old tapes of worldly thinking and record over with new data, storing God’s Word in our memory bank. We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.  We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:3-5. To become mature disciples, our thinking must be strong in God’s Word to overcome Satan’s attempts to take over our thoughts.
