Prayers: August 9, 2020

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

• Thank you, Lord, for loving me beyond anything my mind can imagine. Ephesians 3:18-19
• Thank you, Lord, for loving me, gifting me, and making me Your child.
• Thank you, Lord, for Your power – you can turn coal into diamonds, sand into pearls, and a worm into a butterfly – we are comforted knowing You can do anything.
• Thank you, Lord, for Your strength and power given to me who is weary and weak. Isaiah 40:29
• Thank you, Lord, that I am protected from the evil one. (John 17:15)

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

• Those with ongoing health concerns, including those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and those suffering severe conditions not related to the virus
• Those in nursing or homebound care
• For more faith and trust as we wait, sometimes impatiently, for God’s will to be revealed
• To look to God to show the way out when we are tempted
• For seekers looking for answers and evidence of God’s goodness
• For those trying to walk through several storms at once – hurricanes, fire, pandemic, financial hardship. May we not forget that You are always walking with us.
• For perseverance in keeping up our quiet times with God, especially since we must have a lot going on in our hearts
• For the best plan for teaching our children from elementary to college-age this fall
• For the families who lost loved ones and those who have been most impacted by the horrific explosion in Beirut, Lebanon

Pray for CCC:

• Pray that we may worship God with all our might for He is worthy. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. Psalm 29:2 ESV
• For strength and wisdom for our pastors, that we may care for them as they care for us
• For learning new ways to continue to meet ministry needs even though they are not our preferred ways; may God lead us to be creative
• For discernment for the Nominating Committee to select the best leadership candidates for next year’s Official Board
• For the new Mandarin Fellowship group for seniors started on zoom. Praise God that they are able to conquer technology and seek God in this way
• For wisdom in making reopening plans for CCC

To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded to look beyond words that may be superficially positive or persuasive; the bearer may be covering up negativity on the inside.  Pretty words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a common clay pot. Proverbs 26:23 TLB

感謝主每日同行：

• 感謝主愛我，因爲基督的愛是何等長闊高深，是人所不能測度的。以弗所書3：18-19
• 感謝神愛我、賜福於我，讓我成爲他的孩子。
• 感謝神的大能大力：將煤炭變成寶石、沙石成爲珍珠、蝴蝶破蛹而出，我們歡欣鼓舞：在神沒有難成的事！
• 感謝主將他的能力和力量成爲我們隨時的幫助。“疲乏的，他賜能力；軟弱的，他加力量。以賽亞書40：29”
• 感謝主保守我脫離凶惡。約翰福音17：15

為主內弟兄姊妹禱告：

• 為身體軟弱和接受治療的肢體，包括為遭受新冠病毒感染的病人禱告，願主醫治使他們盡快康復。
• 為老人院或居家需要特別看護的長輩們禱告，願聖靈的關愛、平安和喜樂與他們同在。
• 當我們帶著些許的不安等待神的心意時，求主幫助我們堅固信念更加信靠他。
• 求主在試煉中為我們開路。
• 為慕道友禱告，求上帝解開他們心中的疑惑，彰顯他的慈愛美好。
• 為在同一時間經歷颶風、火災、流行病和經濟困難的人們禱告，讓他們不要忘記神與我們同行。
• 請為我們能堅持有安靜的時間與主相處，尤其是當我們心中無法平靜時。
• 為從小學到大學能有最好的教學計劃禱告。
• 為在黎巴嫩貝魯特令人驚懼的爆炸案中失去家人和遭受嚴重損失的家庭禱告。

為教會的需要禱告：

• 禱告我們竭盡所有來敬拜神，將他當的的榮耀歸給他！要將耶和華的名所當得的榮耀歸給他，以聖潔的裝飾敬拜耶和華！ 詩篇29：2
• 為我們的牧者有屬天的智慧和力量禱告，當他們模樣關懷我們時，也讓我們也關愛他們。
• 儘管新的方式有不盡人意之處，求主讓我們能學習用新的方式繼續滿足事工需要；也求主幫助我們有能力滿足事工需要。
• 為董事會提名委員會禱告，讓他們有能力為明年董事會提出最佳的提名候選人。
• 為新的國語年長者團契網絡聚會禱告，感謝主他們能剋服技術難題，使用新的方式尋求神。
• 為美京中華教會重啓計劃滿有智慧禱告。

思考：上帝在箴言中賜智慧指導我們的生活，我們應當謹慎識別過於華麗或極具説服力的話語，預防報信的人把負面事情的真相隱末了。箴言26章23節說：“火熱的嘴奸惡的心，好像銀渣包的瓦器。”
