Prayers: September 6, 2020

Sep 04, 2020   •

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for the wonderful gift of my salvation. Please send me to someone who needs to hear of Your kindness today!
  • Thank you, Lord, for the privilege of bringing my deepest hurts, fears, or struggles to You and know that You are listening.
  • Thank you, Lord, for less hours spent commuting in traffic.
  • Thank you, Lord, for a new adventure every day.
  • Thank you, Lord, for adopting me into Your forever family.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • Those with ongoing health concerns, those recovering from surgery, those on a long road of treatment, and those waiting for God’s healing and peace
  • Those in nursing or homebound care
  • Those mourning the death of loved ones.
  • Those (both those afflicted and those trying to help) dealing with fire, storms, and violence in their cities
  • For our families still figuring out school issues
  • That we may take time to follow Jesus’ example and treat others with compassion, love, and dignity. May we always choose to affirm the value of others.
  • For our missionaries in danger from an unbelieving, hostile world in addition to COVID conditions
  • Those experiencing financial hardship

Pray for CCC:

  • Pray that we may worship God in any way that brings Him glory and demonstrates our love for Him. Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre! Psalm 149:3 ESV
  • For the Nominating Committee to persevere in presenting a ballot for next year’s Official Board; for church members to prayerfully consider if God is calling them to serve in leadership of the church
  • That we may not grow weary or discouraged because obstacles slow down our ministry work
  • That we may believe we shall look at the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, and be patient while waiting for the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14
  • For the Ministry Teams to have renewed enthusiasm and creativity in planning ministry during the pandemic
  • To be thankful for all the brothers and sisters working behind the scenes

To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that just as a knife sharpener (iron) sharpens a knife (iron) and makes it more useful, a friend sometimes improves and develops a friend through constructive criticism which might cause some sparks and friction, but all for a useful outcome.  As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17 NLT
