Prayers: September 13, 2020

Sep 11, 2020   •

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you that You are the way, the truth, and the life. You hold light for my darkness; strength for my weariness; and calm for my racing heart.
  • Thank you, Lord, that I can turn to You first for every need.
  • Thank you, Lord, for fresh produce from the harvest.
  • Thank you, Lord, for pictures that substitute for hugs.
  • Thank you, Lord, that You do not withhold any good thing from me as I walk uprightly in Your steps. Psalm 84:11

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • Those with ongoing health concerns, those on a long road of treatment, and those waiting for God’s healing and peace, those in frail condition
  • Those in nursing or homebound care
  • Those mourning the death of loved ones
  • For God to speak peace to the storms raging in different aspects of this pandemic and bring calm to our lives.
  • That we may surrender difficult relationships to You and live in peace as we wait for your intervention. Colossians 3:15
  • That we may do one thing to help someone in need this week because if we think of all the needs, we may be overwhelmed to do nothing
  • For our missionaries who have school-age children
  • For protection for those who must step outside their home to return to work

Pray for CCC:

  • Pray that we may worship God like King David with enthusiasm and music, giving Him honor. …David and all the people danced with all their might to honor God. They sang and played musical instruments—harps, drums, cymbals, and trumpets. 1 Chronicles 13:8
  • For church members to prayerfully consider if God is calling them to serve in leadership of the church
  • That we continue to be faithful to sharing the Good News and then leave the harvest to Him. Be grateful that He’s the one in charge of the results.
  • That we be cautious, but courageous, in determining a date return to worship as one body; trusting in the Lord to let us know when.
  • For the planning and outreach of the Chinese retreat in October.
  • Thank God for our children’s Sunday School teachers teaching over Zoom.
  • For focus to stay the course on the task God has given – our ministry goal has not changed, only the methods to achieve it.

To Think About: In Proverbs, God’s guide to living, we are reminded that our prayers are not likely to be well-received by God if we have not spent time in His Word.  God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law. Proverbs 28:9 NLT
