Prayers: September 12, 2021

Sep 12, 2021   •

Pray in thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives:

  • Thank you, Lord, for changes in scenery which show your creativity and majesty.
  • Thank you, Lord, that I can shout for joy because You are with me.
  • Thank you, Lord, that I am special for I am your handiwork. Ephesians 2:10
  • Thank you, Lord, that whenever I am afraid, I can put my trust in You. Psalm 56:3
  • Thank you, Lord, for the wonders of the fall season.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ:

  • For those who are shut-in their homes or nursing facilities
  • For those remembering loved ones who are no longer present with us
  • To know they no longer need to be under the law of sin and death
  • Who struggle with starting over after illness, storms, broken relationships
  • For protection for our children exposed to the coronavirus
  • For our caregivers who are weary
  • For our leaders to govern with selflessness and compassion for others
  • For college students, interns and others who have recently made the DC area their home
  • For courage to take on the challenges of each new day and the experiences it brings

Pray for CCC:

  • That worship is part of our daily experience with God. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7
  • That in-person worship for all congregations will be God-honoring and inspiring
  • That our concerns for what’s happening in the world does not prevent us from moving forward with ministry plans
  • For renewed energy for fall plans
  • For protection for our community and brothers and sisters in our congregation
  • To listen for and follow God’s voice
  • That we not lose any person God has entrusted to us for salvation
  • For our missionaries to persevere in their ministry with courage and wisdom
  • For each of us to volunteer, not be volunteered, to serve where we are gifted
  • For wisdom, vision, and good health for our pastors.

To Think About: What’s needed most if we are to be disciples of Christ? Life-Style Worship.  Our worship must be a way of life. The Scriptures say, Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself… 1 Corinthians 6:19 Our body is a temple, a church, for the Holy Spirit which means we are in church all the time.  To become mature disciples, worship must become a way of daily life.
