Schedule Changes

          CCC and Chinatown Service Center offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the day after.  Announcement and December calendar or Tidings information should be submitted by November 22 to linda@cccdc.com

          Cantonese Worship will be held on Zoom on November 28 with guest speaker, Rev. Sharon Huie.  Pastor Charles will be away.

           English Congregation Small Groups for Young Professionals and Youth will not meet during Thanksgiving week.

Chinese Mission Convention 2021 will be held online December 28 and 29, 2021 this year.  The Chinese Mission Convention (CMC) is dedicated to challenging, empowering, and mobilizing individuals and churches to reach the world for Christ. CMC seeks to unleash us for God’s global glory.  Separate sessions are provided in Mandarin and English. Thanksgiving Mandarin Outreach will be held at Stone Lake in Laurel this year on November 25, 2021 from 11 am – 4 pm featuring Hot Pot Lunch.  This takes the place of the outreach to restaurant workers at the church.  All are welcome to attend, but RSVP is required.  Text Pastor Charles, 202-271-8422 for details.

Missions Update Donations received for Missions was $1,400 in October.  YTD amount is $52,392.30.  Our budget for 2021 is $64,400.

Many Thanks for Shoebox Help We were able to fill 108 shoeboxes as a means to share the gospel with children around the world who do not know Jesus through the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Program.  We appreciate the donors, shoppers, packers and delivery people who pitched in from all congregations to make this possible.   Please pray that seeds of faith will be spread in the children who will receive the gifts.

Parking Available at PMI Parking lots:  Our regular parking arrangement at 900 New York Avenue is NOW AVAILABLE on Sundays.  You may park for free on the street or in the PMI open lot which you enter on 9th Street. We will still have a paid arrangement at the PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave for those who need to have a closer option for parking.  For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Pardon our Dust Work is continuing on the security grant project awarded to our church so be cautious around any work areas in progress.  Please stay in assigned worship and Sunday School areas only.  Cameras, monitors and new doors will be installed.  The nationwide parts and delivery shortages are causing a delay.

The church office and Chinatown Service Center are open full-time hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.  All visitors must call the respective office to make an appointment before coming in and be informed of safety protocols, such as mask-wearing, when entering the church building.  Church office number is 202-637-9852 and Chinatown Service Center number is 202-898-0061.    Our building worker continues to maintain our building following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting against COVID-19.

Precautionary Measures Due to Coronavirus

  • Be cautious when going out – wearing a face covering is required in DC any time you are indoors and recommended outdoors when social distancing is not possible, whether you are vaccinated or not. Capacity restrictions have been lifted for shopping, dining, and traveling, but some health safety protocols are still in effect for some places.  Be cautious in large gatherings.  Stay home if you are sick.
  • Details of activity information changes are announced through the website, phone tree, social media, WTOP and WJLA. If you want to be on the email list, please make sure we have your current email by contacting linda@cccdc.com
  • Anyone who has been exposed to coronavirus or tests positive must quarantine for 10 days.
  • Follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for protecting yourself – wear a mask, wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if you feel ill.
  • Consult a doctor if you have a high fever, cough or breathing problems.
  • Be aware of anti-Asian/Chinese sentiments from those who have anger or fear related to the virus’ origins. Call 911 if you feel threatened.
  • Trust God in this and all situations acting as Jesus would to check on people who may need assistance, not giving into fear, verifying information before passing it on, praying often for His protection and trusting Him for the outcome. Our response in any situation is a testimony of our faith.

宣教奉獻更新：10月份的奉獻金額為$14,000、今年截至目前共為$52,392.30。今年的宣教奉獻預算為$64,400。  感謝弟兄姊妹以金錢支持我們的宣教士。
