Prayers

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  • Thank God for His sacrifice so that we might have freedom and life. May God forgive us for not thanking Him enough, for who He is, for all He does, for all that He’s given.
  • Thank God for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that He wants us to be.
  • Thank God for our beautiful church sanctuary where we may come to meet God.
  • Thank God for watching over loved ones who are far away from us.
  • Thank God for those who persevere in taking care of others even at risk to themselves.
  • Lord, we are weary of this trial of coronavirus. Help us to call on you for endurance because you make us the victor over any trials that life throws at us.
  • Pray that God will help us live as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6)—putting love into action.
  • Pray for brothers and sisters in China who suffer for their faith.
  • Pray for those affected by winter storms.
  • Pray for those who are ill and homebound.
  • Pray for CCC staff, for good health, wisdom, and strength as they carry out ministry tasks.
  • Pray for our new Ladies Fellowship group, that they may encourage one another as they meet in Jesus’ name.
  • Pray for patience and understanding as we encounter others who think differently than we think.
  • Pray that we practice our faith so as not to be worthless (James 2:17). In this new year, may we return to the basics: “Love the Lord your God,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37–39). Pray that the Holy Spirit helps us to be fully devoted to God and shows us the places where we need to put others before ourselves.

To Think About

In times of distress, uncertainty, or indecision, it is amazing how much hope can result from a warm conversation with someone who cares.  As Christians we have that opportunity always available to us, just as Moses did, The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Exodus 33:11.   May we take advantage of the warmth and wonder of talking with our Almighty God. John 15:15, I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
