Prayers

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thank you, God:

  • for the unique beauty we see in all creation
  • for time to worship in the sanctuary of the church
  • that nothing is impossible for You
  • for providing the Way for our sin to be removed and Your righteousness to cover us
  • for joy every morning

Pray:

  • that we will see God open doors for evangelism (Colossians 4:3)
  • that we will boldly share the gospel (Acts 4:29)
  • for safety for brothers and sisters wherever they may be witnessing for God
  • for unity of purpose in the church to share the heart of God and for us to know Christ and make Him known.
  • that God will prosper the work of our church for His glory
  • for those who are sick
  • for those who have lost loved ones recently
  • that our church would be filled with gratitude as we see how He continues to provide for us and work in our church.
  • for a passion to witness Christ’s salvation, forgiveness and mercies
  • for a growing love for and obedience to the Word
  • that we will not be overwhelmed by all that needs to be done, but learn to take the small steps God leads us to take
  • for resuming some additional ministries as it becomes safe to meet in person
  • not our will but God’s will be done
  • that we not perseverate on the negative but be energized by what is positive in our lives
  • for the impact of small group ministry not only on individuals but the whole community of faith

To Think About:

It seems that impossible challenges are added to our world daily – tragedy, heartache, sickness, financial loss, family disintegration, national catastrophe, viruses, war, storms—how are we to gather our wits, steady our courage, and refuse to surrender?  God reminds us in Psalm 37:23-24 that we are not alone. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. He makes us like bamboo that may bend, but never break.  If left to our own resources and strength, our courage will quickly fail and we will snap, but in verses 39-40, we see our resilience comes from the Lord. The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble.  The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.
