Prayers

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thank you, God:

  • for springtime colors and sounds.
  • for forgiving our wickedness and remembering our sins no more. Hebrews 8:12
  • for providing everything we need. Matthew 6:33
  • for boots that get us through muddy waters.
  • for laughter with friends or family.

Pray:

  • for those who are struggling with health concerns; may God provide healing and peace
  • for those who are homebound; may they feel God’s presence
  • for Eva, Pastor Charles’ niece, who remains in an induced coma as a way to respond to her COVID infection.  Pray for others who are still being infected or quarantined due to COVID.
  • that our love for God compels and shines through us
  • that our plans are in God’s order so they will endure
  • that we may throw off our rebellious and defiant nature, so that God knows we are ready to submit to His will
  • that God will provide peace, comfort, and reconciliation for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Be with those who are anxious, fearful and bereaved.  We fervently cry out for an end to this conflict trusting in God’s mercy and compassion.
  • for the ability to change what Jesus has pointed out in our Lent journey
  • for those who are experiencing loss of loved ones and homes due to recent storms
  • for our missionaries who continue spreading the gospel faithfully despite difficult conditions
  • for our church to unified and energized to work together to fulfill God’s purpose for CCC

To Think About:

Our current world situation finds everyone at some level of economic distress or at least not where they want to be financially.  Yet, it is in this set of circumstances, we see many brothers and sisters sharing what they do have, not lamenting what they don’t.  One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. Proverbs 11:24-25 ESV  It is a lesson which goes against logic. But simply helping others always benefits the giver. When we reach out to help those in need, we can find that God provides the faith and provision we truly need.  Passing on practical love brings us peace and joy.  As we welcome Jesus into our hearts this Palm Sunday, we are reminded that Jesus gave his very life for us that we may be reconciled to our Father God.
