Prayers

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thank you, God:

  • that we can trust You to be the “light on our path.” Psalm 119:105
  • for being a Wonderful Counselor
  • for the long-awaited fellowship shared at the English congregation picnic
  • for the eagerness of Wah Luck Bible Study group to learn and fellowship together.  Thank you for providing coworkers to carry out this ministry.
  • for every day that we can wake to bless and be blessed

Pray:

  • for those who are ill or frail
  • for those who are homebound or hospitalized
  • for those mourning the loss of Mrs. Yuk Woo
  • for those who are victims of hate and cruelty especially those at the Dallas Hair World Salon, Geneva Presbyterian Taiwanese Church in Laguna Woods, CA, and the TOPS grocery store in Buffalo, NY
  • for Eva, Pastor Charles’ niece, who has been released from the hospital to begin the slow recovery process from COVID infection at home.  Pray for others who are still being infected or quarantined due to COVID.
  • that God will fill our hearts with grace for one another and help us tend to our hurting communities and families with His perfect peace.
  • that we may live together in unity and receive God’s blessing. Psalm 133
  • that our college graduates may use what they have learned from their studies to serve God’s purposes in the world
  • for understanding and trust when we can’t make sense of what is happening around us
  • for safety and perseverance for our missionaries serving in difficult environments
  • for discipline that helps us to say ‘no’ when we should stop and ‘go’ when we should act
  • that God will provide peace, comfort, and reconciliation for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Be with those who are anxious, fearful and bereaved.  We fervently cry out for an end to this conflict trusting in God’s mercy and compassion.

To Think About:

Our brothers and sisters have certainly had a torrent of difficulties to deal with this week – aside from coronavirus, people are suffering from war, fire, hate crimes, hail, floods, anxiety, and uncertainty, just to mention a few.  But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 1 Corinthians 12:24-26  In the body of Christ, we are spurred to compassion and action when we discover someone else’s pain. We might pray, offer a word of encouragement, or do whatever it takes to aid the healing process. That’s how the body works together.
