Prayers

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thank you, God:

  • for the courage and selflessness of those who fought in wars in former times for our safety and ideals
  • for the people serving as your hands and feet for those in need
  • for the one who sits beside us encouraging us in our daily walk
  • for the mysteries and majesty of Your creation
  • for memories of loved ones

Pray:

  • for those who are ill or frail
  • for those who are homebound or hospitalized
  • for everyone affected by tragedy whether by war, famine, violence, storms, or hate; that they will feel the comfort of God
  • for peace in the world.  Help us to trust Him who is bigger than anything that might happen on earth
  • that God will lead us to patience when we are frustrated at how slowly it takes to change bad habits
  • that we do all we can to bring glory and honor to God.  “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.” Psalm 115:1
  • for the work of the churches in Ukraine
  • that God will guide the next steps of our college graduates whether it be for continued study of beginning careers
  • that parents can help their children to make sense of and be able to stand up against the evil in the world
  • that we may live together in harmony recognizing that the ones with different ideas than our own are also people made in the image of God
  • that we believe in God’s supernatural power to be in control rather than limit our thinking to our own common sense
  • for CCC to be a fired-up church for God, rather than a lukewarm congregation
  • that God will provide peace, comfort, and reconciliation for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Be with those who are anxious, fearful and bereaved.  We fervently cry out for an end to this conflict trusting in God’s mercy and compassion.

To Think About:

It seems that no one is spared the trauma and despair of at least one earthly tragedy in these current times.  How do we bring ourselves out of such confusion and hopelessness?  We simply turn to our God and ask for His help.   Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. Psalm 6:4. Do not grow weary of bringing your pleas to God for, like King David, the Lord will hear and respond because He loves you…. the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.  Psalm 6:8-9
