Prayers: June 5, 2022

Jun 04, 2022   •

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thank you, God:

  • for being our Protector
  • for giving us Jesus, that our belief in Him grants us eternal life with You
  • that despite our limitations, You want to use us for your glory
  • for the family members who make us laugh
  • that we can look forward to being out and about this summer

  • for those who are ill or frail
  • for those who are homebound or hospitalized
  • for courage to fight spiritual battles leading us away from You
  • for successful planning for the Summer Retreat and Vacation Bible School for elementary children
  • for strength and good health for our pastors
  • that our missionaries will know we are praying for them (2 Timothy 1:3)
  • for ability to forgive those who have said or done hurtful things to us
  • for those looking for jobs or career change
  • for those experiencing the effect of COVID infections either in health, living, or job situations
  • for ability to turn our eyes to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith and hope in all situations
  • for wisdom and perseverance to carry out things we have promised to do or have been entrusted to us
  • that God will help us handle the small crises that come up in our daily lives
  • that we may turn our struggles over to God
  • for makeovers in the areas of our heart where laziness, anger, or resentment have hidden true beauty
  • that God will provide peace, comfort, and reconciliation for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Be with those who are anxious, fearful and bereaved.  We continue to cry out for an end to this conflict trusting in God’s mercy and compassion.

To Think About:

God often extends His care, healing, and guidance through fellow believers.  Hebrews 13:1-8  Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.  Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it….. be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you.  Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Who has encouraged you in your faith and who will you encourage?
