- WEARING A MASK INDOORS IS OPTIONAL AS LONG AS VIRUS TRANSMISSION RATE REMAINS LOW, BUT WELLNESS CHECK, HAND HYGIENE AND CONTACT TRACING INFORMATION ARE STILL REQUIRED FOR IN-PERSON WORSHIP.

Memorial Service celebrating the life of Esther Chow who passed away on April 11, 2022, will be held next Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 12:45 pm in the sanctuary. Esther was an active member of CCC since 1985 and a professor at American University. May God cover her husband, Norman, and children, Jennifer and Paul, with His peace and love.
English Fellowship Groups Fall Schedule:
- Married & Family Fellowship: Whether you are newlyweds or are married with children, we would love for you to join us on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at 8:00 pm. Start date is October 14. Being married and raising a family can have its ups and downs. We will encourage one another in the Lord as we share in the Word and also our experiences. Children’s and teens’ program will be provided. Email Tom Kee or Aaron Woo for location and details of potluck dinner and program.
- Hope Fellowship (formerly called Seasoned Saints Fellowship): God is faithful and good in every season of our lives! This is a late afternoon fellowship for those who are retired and wish to study the Bible, have discussion and share in life together! We will meet on Thursdays at 1:30 pm. Email Pastor Josh for more information and meeting link.
- Ladies English Adult Fellowship (LEAF) will resume meeting weekly on Fridays at 7:00 pm. Please note the change in meeting day. You may join either online or in person! Contact Grace Chen or Nichole Chen for details.
- Teen Fellowship: The program for youth and teens in our church will run concurrently with the Married & Family Fellowship on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month beginning October 14 and virtually on the 3rd Friday of the month. Please email Pastor Josh or EJ Lum for more information.
Election for 2023 Official Board will be conducted at the end of the month. Church members should confirm that their current address is on file in the church office for ballot mailing. Instructions on voting will be included. Contact info@cccdc.com with updates or questions.
Project with Georgetown Psychiatry: Looking for volunteers who are willing and able to share their thoughts to help better understand Asian/Asian American Christians’ views on mental health and mental health treatment. How you can help: Fill out an online questionnaire (takes 20-30 min) by October 23, 2022 (answers are kept confidential) which is found, along with more details, at http://cccdc.com//georgetown.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9XfaS10Gdo9HSN8 The first 40 volunteers will be provided a small compensation for their time!
Combined Federal Campaign has started The church’s Chinatown Service Center may be designated to receive CFC funds if you are a federal worker. Use the code 34868. To find out more about the social services provided to community residents, please pick up a brochure in the narthex.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guideline. Contact the Service Center for more information.
Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. The next Clinic will be November 2, 2022 at 9:30 am. Translators are provided. You must reserve a spot with Michelle, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. She will provide meeting details when you call.
COVID-19 Vaccinations The new booster is now available. Contact your state or the district’s government website or your local health department for more information on vaccinations and testing. If you or someone you know needs help with getting a vaccination or have questions, please call the Service Center.
Community Services Classes on Zoom: English as a Second Language Class, Tuesdays @ 6 pm; Citizenship Classes, Fridays @ 6:00 pm. All visitors must call the respective office to make an appointment before coming in and be informed of safety protocols when entering the church building. Our building worker continues to maintain our building following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting against COVID-19.

Precautionary Measures Due to Coronavirus
- Anyone who has been exposed to coronavirus or tests positive must quarantine. - Follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for protecting yourself – vaccination, wear a mask in areas of high COVID transmission, wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if you feel ill.
- Consult a doctor if you have a high fever, cough or breathing problems.
- Be aware of anti-Asian/Chinese sentiments from those who have anger or fear related to the virus’ origins. Call 911 if you feel threatened.
- Trust God in this and all situations acting as Jesus would to check on people who may need assistance, not giving into fear, verifying information before passing it on, praying often for His protection and trusting Him for the outcome. Our response in any situation is a testimony of our faith.
