Queen Esther Drama Save the date – December 10, 2023 to attend a joint worship service including the drama presentation of Queen Esther, who like Jesus, was willing to give her life to save her people. Led by the Cantonese Ministry, members of all congregations are working in the production. First dress rehearsal is September 17. Please pray that we will align with the direction of the Holy Spirit to present the message of Esther for God’s glory.
Christmas Ministry For Children As you’re shopping, take advantage of ongoing sales to purchase items to donate for Operation Christmas Child. You can fill a box on your own or buy gifts for the packing party. Let’s share about Jesus with children who have not heard the Good News. Lotus Festival of Food and Culture, September 12-17, 2023 in Chinatown Park. Dance, yoga, movie night, Park(ing) Day, and an Asian street and food festival are planned. Be aware that the block of I Street between 5th and 6th (in front of our church) will be closed September 17 from 8 am to 10 pm. 5th and 6th Streets will still be open to traffic. Parking at PMI Parking lots on Sundays: 900 New York Avenue – Free parking with validation stamp. Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking. For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Street parking is also free on Sundays. We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next meeting on October 2, 2023 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God. There should be no explanation or self-introduction. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund. In 2023 recording of PayPal donations will reflect actual amount church receives (so fees will be deducted if incurred)

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers low-cost health insurance for children and teens according to income guidelines. Contact the Service Center for more information.
Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be in October. Translators are provided. You must reserve a spot with Michelle, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. She will provide meeting details when you call.
Community Services Classes on Zoom: English as a Second Language Class, Tuesdays @ 6 pm (on Summer Break until August 29); Citizenship Classes are switching meeting time to Saturday mornings on zoom at 9 am starting August 19.
