Sympathy expressed to the family of John Lem. John, a long-time, faithful member of CCC, who had a passion for providing community services to those in need, passed away on September 18, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled at Hines Rinaldi, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on October 3, 2023 at 11:00 am with interment at 1 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853.  Visitation is October 2, 2023 at Hines Rinaldi from 5 pm – 8 pm.

I Street Traffic Changes  I Street in front of our church (between 5th and 6th Streets) has become one-way, one lane of through traffic heading east. The purpose is to improve the neighborhood by expanding activities in Chinatown Park, through the removal of the westbound lane.  Passengers may still be dropped off in front of the church.

Disaster Relief for Hawaii In Christian love, CCC is collecting monetary donations for disaster relief in Maui after wildfires devastated communities on the island. If you are able, please make your checks payable to the Chinese Community Church with a designation for “Maui relief” before November 30. You may also donate cash or Zelle/Paypal. Your donations will be matched up to $6000 by our church members who grew up in Hawaii and now reside in the DC area. All funds will be given to the American Red Cross providing financial aid, temporary housing, meals, mental health and spiritual counseling, and support of local businesses.  One of our members, Richard Wong, is a Red Cross volunteer currently serving in Maui.

Queen Esther Drama  The drama presentation of Queen Esther, who like Jesus, was willing to give her life to save her people will be during a Joint Worship Service on December 10.  Led by the Cantonese Ministry, members of all congregations are working in the production. Please pray that God would cause all of our enemies to be scattered as we seek to build up each other and His church.

Christmas Ministry For Children We will join Operation Christmas Child in filling shoeboxes with gifts.  You can fill a box on your own or buy gifts for the packing party which will be scheduled soon. Items should be new and not cause a hazard to small children. Let’s share about Jesus with children who have not heard the Good News.  Please let Jeremy Fan or Rachel Chen know if you make any purchases so we can keep track of inventory (racheremy@gmail.com). Parking at PMI Parking lots on Sundays:  900 New York Avenue – Free parking with validation stamp.  Enter on 9th Street. PMI Garage at 600 Mass Ave – church paid arrangement for those who need to have a closer option for parking.  For either lot, please make sure you pick up a validation stamp or follow-up ticket at the front door from security or greeters. Need Prayer? Send your request through the homepage of the church website. http://tinyurl.com/CCC-Prayers  or join the Monthly Church-wide Prayer Meeting.  We invite you to join together as a church family for prayer in our next meeting on October 2, 2023 (usually the first Monday of the month) from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Participants may pray in any language, offering only words meant for God.  There should be no explanation or self-introduction.  You may pray following the direction of the pastors or for items on your mind at the time. Offerings and Donations are being received during worship services.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund.  In 2023 recording of PayPal donations will reflect actual amount church receives (so fees will be deducted if incurred)

Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be in October. Translators are provided.  You must reserve a spot with Michelle, 202-898-0061 in order to attend.  She will provide meeting details when you call.

向 John Lem 林自强的家人致哀悼 John Lem 於2023 年9月18日去世，他是美京中華基督教會的長期忠心會員，曾熱衷於為有需要的人提供社區服務。喪禮定於2023 年10月3 日上午11點在Hines Rinaldi, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904舉行，隨後下午1點安葬Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853。10月2日下午5點至晚上8點在Hines Rinaldi可以瞻仰遺容。

I街交通變化 我們教堂前的I街（5街和6街之間）已改為汽車向東單行路。目的是通過取消那段西行線以擴展唐人街公園的活動來改善社區。乘客仍然可以在教堂前下車。

夏威夷救災 夏威夷毛伊島遭受山火摧毀社區，CCC懷著基督徒的愛心，為毛伊島的救災活動籌集捐款。如果你有感動捐助，請在11月30日之前將支票抬頭寫給Chinese Community Church，並註明「Maui毛伊島救濟」。您也可以現金或透過Zelle/Paypal捐助。我們在夏威夷長大、現在居住在華盛頓特區一帶的教會成員將相配捐款至6,000美元。所有資金將捐給美國紅十字會，作為提供經濟援助、臨時住宿、膳食、心理健康和精神輔導以及對當地企業的支持。我們的會友Richard Wong是紅十字會志願者，目前在毛伊島服務。

兒童聖誕節事工 我們將加入Samaritan Purse慈善機構的「聖誕兒童行動」，在鞋盒裡裝滿禮物。您可以自己裝一個盒子，也可以為正在籌辦的鞋盒包裝派對購買禮物。物品應該是新的並且不會對小孩造成危險。齊來給尚未聽過福音的孩子們分享耶穌。如果您進行任何購買，請告知Jeremy Fan或Rachel Chen，以便我們記錄庫存(racheremy@gmail.com) 掃描二維碼獲取禮物主意。

禱告需求：請通過教會網站主頁上傳您的禱告需求http://tinyurl.com/CCC-Prayers或參加每月全教會禱告會。下一個禱告會將在2023年10月2日（通常每個月的第一個星期一）晚上7點30分至8點30分。我們作教會家庭的成員一起禱告。參與者可以用任何語言祈禱，只提供對上帝而言的話語。不需要任何解釋或自我介紹。您可以按照牧師的指示禱告，也可以為您當時想到的事情禱告。您可以在這一小時內的任何時間參與。請點擊此處獲取禱告會鏈接。
