Sympathy is extended to the family of Hang Ying Shum Wong Our dear 95-year-old sister from Cantonese congregation and beloved mother of Peter, Scott, Tina and Betty and grandmother to several known at CCC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026 surrounded by her family.  Her funeral is Sunday October 11th at 3:00 PM at the Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 followed by Memorial Reception at Full Kee Restaurant, 5830 Columbia Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041.  Pray for strength and comfort for the Wong family during their time of loss and sadness.

Pray for Pastor Joanna May the miracles of healing in her life be used for God’s glory.

Pastor Josh and His Family will be on vacation from October 5-13.  Please contact the church office for pastoral assistance during his absence.

Interested in Baptism or Membership at CCC? New members will be received at our Joint Thanksgiving Sunday Worship Service, November 22.  Classes for baptism and membership are being scheduled now.  If you are considering a confession of faith or transfer to the CCC family, please contact one of the pastors as soon as possible.

U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, October 24–28, 2026 During that time the Bible will be read from beginning to end without pause to honor God and proclaim the Good News. The Restaurant Fellowship has signed up to read from 9:45 pm to midnight on Sunday, October 25.  If you would like to join them or find out more details contact Feimin Zhang or https://biblathon.org/.  

MISSIONS UPDATE Religious Education Committee has committed to support eight missionaries/mission organizations in 2026 with a $75,000.00 budget. Donations total $2,475.00 for September and YTD amount is $35,439.49. If you have questions or suggestions for CCC mission support please contact Grace Chen, the chair of the committee.

Fall Family Outing  Butler’s Orchard, Sunday October 25, 2:30 – 6:00 PM. $20/person (ages 2+). Families with children of all ages are invited to join us for an afternoon of farm fun, a hayride together, snacks and fellowship. Families will drive themselves and will need to purchase their own tickets in advance as soon as possible, as peak weekends do sell out. Please contact Esther (esther.cho@cccdc.com, 253-680-9590) for more information! 

Congregation Meeting, November 1, 2026 for Election Of 2027 Official Board, 1:00 pm in Sanctuary.  Members should receive information and a ballot in the mail by October 26.  Make sure the office has your current address so that you will receive your ballot in time for the Congregation Meeting for the Election on November 1, 2026.  Email info@cccdc.com.

Thanks for your patience Our church building is more than 160 years old and many of its HVAC systems are showing their age.  Several of our systems will be repaired or replaced during the next two weeks. Hopefully, all systems will be in working order by next Sunday.  Contributions to the Building Fund are welcome to help cover these expenses.

Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT. You may also send checks in the mail, add CCC to your Bill Pay service from your bank, or send offering through Zelle (treasurer@cccdc.com) or PayPal from website link. Checks are payable to Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  If giving through PayPal, avoid fees by designating Friends and Family from your account, not a credit card or using the PayPal Giving Fund.  Offering collection boxes are also stationed in church worship spaces. In addition to operating budget, you may designate donations to missions, Good Samaritan Fund, Chinatown Service Center, Building Fund.

Next Legal Clinic, sponsored by Chinatown Service Center and Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, will be on November5. Translators are provided.  You must reserve a spot with the Chinatown Service Center, 202-898-0061 in order to attend. Meeting details will be provided when you call.

宣教事工近況 宗教教育委員會於2026年承諾支持八位宣教士／宣教機構，全年宣教事工預算為$75,000.00。9月份收到的宣教奉獻共$2,475.00，截至目前為止累計奉獻金額為$35,439.49。如對本教會的宣教支持事工有任何問題或建議，請聯絡委員會主席：陳恩惠。

教會暖氣及空調系統維修 感謝大家的耐心與體諒。我們的教會建築已有超過160年的歷史，許多暖氣及空調（HVAC）系統也逐漸老化。未來兩週內，教會將進行幾項系統的維修及更換工程。盼望所有系統能在下周日恢復正常運作。若弟兄姊妹願意奉獻支持這些工程，歡迎為教會建堂基金奉獻，幫助教會支付相關費用。

 

團契廳失物招領車 團契廳設有失物招領車，任何物品若在失物招領車上放置超過3週，將會捐出。
